Fade Barbers is a barbershop in Birchwood, Lincoln. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We have written it in plain English. If anything is unclear, call us on 01522 646509 or ask us in the shop.
Who we are
This website is run by Fade Barber Lincoln Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14060101), at 68 Woodfield Avenue, Birchwood, Lincoln, LN6 0LP. We trade as Fade Barbers.
For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. To contact us about your data, write to us at the address above or call 01522 646509.
Who this policy is for
- Visitors — anyone who browses this website.
- Enquirers — people who send us an enquiry, for example about hair systems.
- People in our photographs — customers and staff who appear in images on this site. Section 5 is about you.
If you simply come in for a haircut and pay in the shop, this website policy does not apply to that visit. What we do with card payments is handled by our payment provider and our bank.
The information we collect
| Category | What it includes | Who it is about |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry details | Your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you write in your message | Enquirers |
| Photographs | Images of finished haircuts, hair systems, our team, and the shop | Customers and staff |
| Technical and usage | IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and cookies or similar technologies — see section 7 | All visitors |
We do not take payments through this website and we do not run customer accounts. Online booking is coming; when it does we will update this policy before it goes live, and it will still take no payment.
Please do not send us health information through an enquiry. If something about your hair or scalp is relevant to a hair system, it is better discussed at your consultation than typed into a form.
How we use your information, and our legal basis
| What we use it for | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and following it up | Our legitimate interests in answering people who contact us |
| Showing our work on this website | Consent, for anyone identifiable in a photograph — see section 5 |
| Keeping the website secure and working | Our legitimate interests in protecting the site and its visitors |
| Understanding how the website is used | Your consent, given through the cookie banner |
| Meeting our legal, tax and accounting obligations | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed our interests against your rights. You can ask us about that at any time.
Photographs — and how to have one removed
This website shows photographs of haircuts, hair systems, our team and our shop. Some of them show identifiable people.
We only publish a photograph of an identifiable person with their consent. For anyone under 18, we require the written consent of a parent or guardian, and we will not publish without it.
If you appear in a photograph on this site and want it taken down, tell us and we will remove it. You do not need to give a reason, and it will not affect how you are treated in the shop. Call 01522 646509, message us on Facebook, or say so next time you are in. We will take it down promptly.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time. Withdrawing it does not make our earlier use of the photograph unlawful, but it stops any further use.
Where your information is processed
We aim to keep information within the UK or European Economic Area. Some providers, such as Google and Microsoft, may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, appropriate safeguards apply — the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or equivalent standard contractual clauses. Ask us if you want the detail.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries — for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards, then we delete them.
- Photographs — for as long as they are in use on the site, or until consent is withdrawn.
- Anything with a tax or accounting purpose — normally six years, as the law requires.
When we no longer need information, we delete it securely.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- erase your information, in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- portability — receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it, at any time.
To use any of these rights, call 01522 646509 or write to us at 68 Woodfield Avenue, Birchwood, Lincoln, LN6 0LP. We will respond within one month, and it costs you nothing.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office — ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113 — though we would rather have the chance to put things right first.
Children
We cut children's hair, and children are welcome in the shop. This website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18 through it.
Where a child appears in a photograph on this site, we hold the written consent of a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and want a photograph removed, see section 5 — we will take it down, no questions asked.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change we will update the "last updated" date and, where it matters, tell you directly.
